Frequently Asked Questions

I’m confused by the digital versus live conference. Can you explain it further?

Sure! On June 6 - 7, 2020 , a full conference will be held at the Hilton Granite Park in Dallas, Texas. That conference will include approximately twenty workshops and panels, all of which will be filmed by our videographer team. Post-conference, our video editors will package every panel, workshop and lecture into high-def videos and upload them to our digital conference site. One month after the live conference, on July 11th and 12th, the conference videos will be released to our digital attendees. The videos will stay on the digital conference website for a full year, allowing digital attendees to watch and rewatch those videos at their leisure during that timeframe.

IMPORTANT: Live registration tickets will ALSO include the digital conference. So, authors who purchase the live ticket will be able to log into the digital conference as well, and rewatch any events they attended, or catch up on those that they didn’t.

Are meals included?

For the Inkers Bootcamp and Live Conference a buffet lunch will be provided. Attendees are free to eat lunch on their own, if they prefer. One reason we love this hotel is that there are eight restaurants within walking distance.

What is the cancellation policy?

Ticket is fully refundable until November 30, 2019. December 1, 2019 through April 1, 2020 the ticket is refundable for 50% of ticket value. After April 1, 2020, the ticket is non-refundable. The ticket is transferable to another author until May 1, 2020. If you need a refund or to transfer a ticket please contact

What day should I arrive?

For the Inkers Bootcamp, we suggest arriving on Tuesday night June 2, 2020. Bootcamp classes will begin on Wednesday at 9 a.m.

For the Live Conference, we suggest arriving on Friday morning or afternoon. We have a Write-A-Thon room for attendees that will be open all hours from Wednesday through Sunday. Feel free to arrive as early as Tuesday. The hotel rate will be honored from Tuesday, through Monday evening.

I’ve already written a book. Is the Bootcamp for me?

It depends on how much you struggle with the writing process. The bootcamp is really designed to help someone who is starting from scratch and confused or overwhelmed by the process of writing a book. I would suggest looking over the Bootcamp Description, which really breaks down what the itinerary covers. Do those topics appeal to you? If you have already published, you probably won’t need the marketing side - but all classes are optional, and you could use our flex spaces to work on your novel during that time.

If you are halfway through your first novel, the bootcamp can still be beneficial. It will teach you the groundwork you will need, plus it will work through your plot, characters and writing and strength them.

What should I wear? Can I bring snacks?

Please feel free to dress for comfort. Jeans and T-shirts are fine, but we would suggest packing some nicer outfits, in case you join in on our evening events. Also, conferences are a great place to take photos with your favorite authors, and load up on social media stock, so keep that in mind while packing.

Eating snacks isn’t allowed in the live events (some people are noisy chewers), but we’re putting plenty of fifteen minute breaks in for restroom and snacking - so feel free to pop those in your Inkers Con Official Tote for those moments.

What is the hotel rate? Is it included in registration?

The hotel rate is not included in registration. It is $160 a night, and includes free in-room wifi. Parking rates are $17 a day for self-parking or $20 for valet. You can book your room by clicking here, or by calling Hilton reservations at 800-774-1500 and mentioning group code INK.

How advanced is the content? Is it for all genres?

The conference is for all genres. There will be applicable information for all levels of author, but the focus of the conference is on helping published authors break into the next level—in their processes, writing, marketing, and earning potential.

If you are an aspiring author, and don’t have a published novel yet, the Inkers Bootcamp may be the best fit for you.

Will the sessions be recorded? I don’t want to have to miss out on one that I want to see, if a different one is occurring at the same time.

All sessions on June 6th and 7th will be recorded by our videographer team. Those videos will be published one month later as part of our digital conference (which live attendees will also have access to). So please don’t stress over choosing one event over another. You will get to experience all of the content!

Are there any volunteer opportunities?
